Our Services

Individual counselling

Counselling can help with a wide range of difficulties such as low self esteem, depression, relationship difficulties, trauma, loss, abuse and substance misuse. All our counsellors are trained in the person-centred approach, which is based on empathy, acceptance and honesty. Our counsellors use a variety of other approaches when it is appropriate, in order to help clients work through their problems.

We work mainly with adults but some of our counsellors are also able to work with children and adolescents.

Bereavement counselling

Some of our counsellors have specialist training in bereavement counselling from Cruse and are able to offer this service.

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a slightly more structured form of therapy which looks at the links between feelings, thoughts and behaviour. It is particularly helpful for all anxiety disorders, these include panic attacks, generalised anxiety disorder, health anxiety, social anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). CBT is also very effective for eating disorders, depression, substance misuse and other addictive behaviours.

Couple counselling

Couple counselling can be very helpful in terms of improving communication, enabling couples to understand their recurring disagreements and differences and how they can move forward. Very often progress can be made in just a few sessions.

Counselling for student counsellors

We know that counselling students are required to have a high number of sessions of personal counselling in order to complete their training and that this can be expensive. We therefore offer reduced rates to counselling students.
